Our Spaces
We used to be the old pumping station supplying water to the Watford area. In the early 1970s the building was converted to provide a theatre auditorium and rehearsal room and we’ve expanded over the years to include a number of multi-purpose spaces, see below.

The Main Theatre
The Pump House’s Main Theatre is a raked auditorium which can seat 124 people and comprises a stage, wings and backstage dressing rooms with a toilet. There is wheelchair access from the side entrance. It also has a fully licensed bar and foyer area with a box office desk and toilets.
The Colne River Room
The Colne River Room has no fixed seating and chairs can be arranged for a variety of events from theatre-style to round-table layouts with a maximum capacity of 100. There is a small stage and PA system. It has its own entrance, foyer and licensed bar.
The Charles Room
Our Charles Room can hold up to 30 people with flexible seating and comes with its own self-contained tea/coffee bar.
The Upper Rehearsal Rooms
We have two rehearsal spaces, large enough to replicate stage space that can also be used as a gallery/installation space or for workshops.
