Goodbye to two stalwart supporters of the Pump House

As we come to the end of another busy year, we’re sorry to be saying goodbye to two stalwart supporters of the Pump House.

Thank you Sharon

As some may be aware, Sharon Gaffney has been involved with the Pump House Theatre and Arts Trust for more than 10 years in a development role.  In that time she has built a wide range of partnerships, secured many new funds, helped to start and establish the Watford Fringe Festival, supported the start of Proud Watford, brought in new groups and events and much more.

Sharon moved to Norfolk a few years ago.  In recent times it has been getting harder for her to be in Watford enough to support the Pump House so she has made the difficult but understandable decision to stop her formal role at the end of the 2025.

Sharon has provided a significant contribution to building the Pump House operation over the last 10 years, to the strong and stable organisation it is today, which we are all very grateful for.  While of course her input will be missed, part of her contribution has been to build a strong team and network. This gives us a very strong platform to continue the momentum of progress at the Pump House going into the foreseeable future.

A new recruit (to be introduced soon) will be picking up some of Sharon’s role,  with the wider Pump House team continuing the other parts. So do contact office@pumphouse.info if you need anything and they will put you in touch with the right person.

Although Sharon is stopping her formal role, she will still keep in touch with the Pump House, will come to some events and of course will always be part of the Pump House family.  So all at the Pump House very much thank Sharon for all she has done and wish her the best for her future endeavours.

Over 40 years

Dennis Murphy has been involved with the Pump House for over 40 years, and most of that he has served as a trustee on the board of the Pump House Theatre and Arts Trust charity.  Dennis will be retiring from his board role at the end of this year. Dennis has been a previous chair, and an integral part of many of the developments at the Pump House over the years.  His dedication, diplomacy and experience has brought a welcome stability to the Trust and has played an important role in making the Pump House what it is today.  All at the Pump House thank him for all he has given to the Pump House and wish him the best in his retirement.
