Doc Houlind started his professional music life as drummer with famous PAPA BUE BAND in 1980, became well known and established on the European jazz scene in the 80's and 90's. In 2004 he changed his instrument accomplishing his dream of leading the front-line as trumpet player with the highest degree of swingin' jazz taking you through a fantastic music-universe from old Papa Bue Hits to well known Louis Armstrong songs/standards among others like Gospel songs, Rags, Ballads and Love-songs. Today's band - listed below - consists of younger as well as experienced musicians, all with a great passion for real New Orleans style, specially as represented by American bands coming to Europe during the jazz revival period and which play a major role in creating the European jazz-boom in the 60's.. That's their roots!
